
NTTU – On March 20, 2022, Nguyen Tat Thanh University participated in a meeting session of the Education Quality Accreditation Council – Education Quality Accreditation Center of Vinh University (hereinafter referred to as the Council) for four academic programs: Construction Engineering, Economic Law, Restaurant and Food Service Management, and Chinese Language.
Attending the meeting were representatives of the University’s leadership: Dr. Tran Ai Cam – Rector; M.A. Nguyen Thi Anh Dao – Head of the Quality Assurance Office; Dr. Nguyen Huu Thuan Anh – Deputy Head of the Science and Technology Office; and representatives of the leadership of the units managing the four academic programs, including: Dr. Vu Truong Vu – Dean of the Faculty of Architecture – Interior Design – Applied Arts; M.A. Nguyen Quoc Trung – Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Architecture – Interior Design – Applied Arts; Dr. Chu Hai Thanh – Dean of the Faculty of Law; Dr. Nguyen Trong Tuan – Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law; Dr. Phan Thi Ngan – Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Vietnam Studies; M.A. Nguyen Thi Kim Thoa – Head of Department, Faculty of Tourism and Vietnam Studies; Dr. Nguyen Thi Nguyet Anh – Standing Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages; M.A. Hoang Quynh Anh – Head of Department, Faculty of Foreign Languages.
Dr. Tran Ai Cam, Rector, represented the University in presenting to the Council an overview of Nguyen Tat Thanh University and the four academic programs under evaluation, the quality assurance work, as well as the quality improvement solutions implemented following the external assessment.
According to the External Assessment Team’s report, the four academic programs received a score of 5 (exceeding expectations) in the following areas:
- Program descriptions and course syllabi are publicly available, and stakeholders can easily access them.
- Student assessment practices publicly communicate regulations on learning outcome evaluation and provide timely feedback on academic results, enabling students to improve their performance.
- Human resources management is conducted based on the work performance of lecturers and researchers; the competencies of support staff have also been identified and assessed, creating motivation for human resource development.
- The University has a strong facilities system and learning resources through the Information and Library Center, effectively supporting teaching and research activities.
- Support services and facilities are periodically evaluated and continuously improved.
- Graduate employment rates are established, monitored, and benchmarked to support quality improvement efforts.
The four academic programs were recommended to continue improving:
- The measurement of learning outcomes at both the course and program levels.
- Teaching methods and assessment methods to better support the achievement of intended learning outcomes.
At the conclusion of the meeting, 100% of the Council members unanimously approved the external assessment results of the four academic programs: Construction Engineering, Economic Law, Restaurant and Food Service Management, and Chinese Language. Thus, to date, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has had 17 academic programs successfully undergo external assessment according to the program quality standards of the Ministry of Education and Training as well as AUN-QA.
