After undergoing a rigorous and independent process of data collection and institutional evaluation based on the QS Stars assessment framework, QS has officially recognized Nguyen Tat Thanh University with an overall 4-Star QS Stars rating. The University is the first non-public university in Vietnam to be awarded a 4-Star rating by QS.
Nguyen Tat Thanh University was evaluated against eight assessment categories, including:
- Teaching
- Employability
- Internationalization
- Academic Development
- Program Strength
- Facilities
- Social Responsibility
- Inclusiveness
Among these, Internationalization and Program Strength received 3-star ratings. Teaching and Social Responsibility each received 4 stars. Notably, four out of the eight categories achieved 5-star ratings:

- Inclusiveness
Compared with the University’s 2016 results, Nguyen Tat Thanh University has demonstrated remarkable progress and significant improvements following the 2019 QS Stars re-evaluation.
According to the QS Stars assessment:
“A university awarded 4 Stars is an institution with a strong international profile, demonstrating excellence in both research and teaching, and providing an ideal environment for teaching and learning for faculty and students.”
This achievement is the result of 20 years of continuous efforts to develop Nguyen Tat Thanh University as an application-oriented university with a strong emphasis on practical education.
QS (full name: QS Quacquarelli Symonds Ltd.) is a United Kingdom-based organization specializing in higher education and international education services. It was founded in 1990 by Nunzio Quacquarelli. In 2010, QS launched the QS World University Rankings, which has become one of the three most prestigious global university ranking systems, alongside the Times Higher Education (THE) rankings and the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU).
QS Stars is QS’s institutional quality rating system, which evaluates universities and awards ratings on a scale from 1 Star to 5 Stars Plus (5 Star Plus). The QS Stars framework consists of eight assessment categories and more than 50 evaluation criteria, providing a comprehensive assessment of a university’s core activities.
