Closing Ceremony of the Official Quality Accreditation Assessment for the Pharmacy Undergraduate Program at Nguyen Tat Thanh University

On the afternoon of December 26, 2019, the official quality accreditation survey for the undergraduate Pharmacy program at Nguyen Tat Thanh University concluded with a formal closing ceremony held at Hall A801, 300A Nguyen Tat Thanh Campus, District 4, Ho Chi Minh City.

Attending the closing ceremony, the External Assessment Team (EAT) included: Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hong Sinh – Team Leader; Dr. Nguyen Thi Huyen – Secretary; Associate Professor Dr. Ngo Dai Nghiep – Permanent Member; Professor Dr. Nguyen Thanh Nam – Member; and M.A. Bui Thi Nhu Hue – Academic Secretary.

On the side of the University, attendees included Dr. Tran Ai Cam – Permanent Vice Rector; Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh – Vice Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; along with leaders, staff members of various departments, and lecturers and staff of the Faculty.

The official survey was conducted from December 24 to 26, 2019 in a professional, transparent, objective, and high-quality manner. The External Assessment Team carried out various activities including: reviewing self-assessment documents and evidence; collecting information through interviews, paper surveys, and observations; verifying the accuracy and legality of evidence; conducting site visits, classroom observations, and teaching evaluations; and cross-checking information.

At the closing ceremony, the assessors presented their evaluations, highlighting strengths, limitations, and recommendations to help the University and Faculty continue improving and enhancing the quality of the Pharmacy training program. Representing the External Assessment Team, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hong Sinh also shared constructive comments and recommendations to support the sustainable development and quality assurance of Nguyen Tat Thanh University.

On behalf of the University, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh – Vice Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy – expressed sincere appreciation to the Center for Education Accreditation, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, and the External Assessment Team for their time, effort, expertise, and objective evaluation of the Pharmacy program. He also committed that the University would seriously consider the detailed recommendations of the External Assessment Team and continue to develop and implement specific action plans to improve the Faculty and ensure learner benefits, meeting the labor market demand in the healthcare sector.

By 2019, the Pharmacy program was the first program in the health sciences field and the third program overall of the University to be accredited under Circular 04 of the Ministry of Education and Training. In addition, the University had four programs successfully assessed under AUN-QA standards, including Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance and Banking, and English Language Studies.

To acknowledge the results of the official accreditation survey for the Pharmacy program, the Faculty of Pharmacy leadership and the External Assessment Team signed a minutes of completion of the official survey.
