Closing Ceremony of the Official External Quality Accreditation Survey for the Bachelor’s Program in Hospitality Management

NTTU – After three days of serious, objective, and transparent work conducted by the External Evaluation Team, along with the efforts of all faculty members, lecturers of the faculty, and units across the University, the official accreditation survey for the Bachelor’s program in Hospitality Management was successfully completed.

The closing ceremony took place on the afternoon of May 30, 2019, to summarize the activities and evaluation results of the survey team.

Representing the External Evaluation Team from the Center for Education Quality Accreditation, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) were: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hong Sinh, Head of the Faculty of Library and Information Science, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM – Head of the External Evaluation Team; MSc. Ho Dac Hai Mien, Deputy Director of the Center for Education Quality Accreditation, VNU-HCM – Secretary; MSc. Duong Hoang Kiet, Deputy Director of the Quality Management Center, Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry – Permanent Member; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ba Hoang, Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport – Member; MSc. Trinh Thi My Hien, Head of Inspection – Legal Affairs – Quality Assurance Office, University of Information Technology, VNU-HCM – Member; Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Tam, Specialist at the Center for Education Quality Accreditation, VNU-HCM – Academic Secretary; and Dr. To Van Phuong, Head of Undergraduate Training Department, Nha Trang University – Observer.

Representing Nguyen Tat Thanh University were: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and President of the University; Dr. Tran Ai Cam, Standing Vice President; MSc. Phan Thi Ngan, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Vietnam Studies; along with leaders of various faculties, departments, and centers.

On behalf of the External Evaluation Team, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hong Sinh presented the preliminary results of the official accreditation survey for the Bachelor’s program in Hospitality Management at Nguyen Tat Thanh University. He also expressed gratitude to the Board of Trustees, University Leadership, faculty members of the Faculty of Tourism and Vietnam Studies, as well as staff and students for their support and cooperation, which enabled the team to successfully carry out its work.

At the closing ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Manh Hung expressed his sincere appreciation to the External Evaluation Team for their time, effort, expertise, and objective and fair assessment of the Bachelor’s program in Hospitality Management at Nguyen Tat Thanh University.

He emphasized that the important and meaningful findings presented by the External Evaluation Team would serve as motivation for the University and the Faculty of Tourism and Vietnam Studies to continuously improve training quality, scientific research, community service, and other activities. This would also create a foundation for the Faculty’s further development, in line with the University’s expectation of training programs that meet the demand for human resources in the tourism industry in particular and the national labor market in general.

To formally recognize the outcomes of the three-day official accreditation survey, Nguyen Tat Thanh University and the External Evaluation Team signed a record of completion of the official site visit. This milestone marks the first faculty at Nguyen Tat Thanh University to undergo an official program-level accreditation survey at the undergraduate level, setting a pioneering example for other faculties to follow in preparing the necessary conditions for future program evaluations and quality assurance activities.
