NTTU – Nguyen Tat Thanh University has just received the evaluation results for four academic programs under AUN-QA in the 255th assessment round, which took place from January 17–21, 2022.
The results showed that three programs achieved the “adequate as expected” level (equivalent to 4/7) under AUN-QA, including Biotechnology, Accounting, and Automotive Technology. The Food Technology program achieved the “better than expected” level (equivalent to 5/7) under AUN-QA. The Biotechnology program received a score of 5 for Criterion 1 on Expected Learning Outcomes, Criterion 2 on Program Structure, Criterion 3 on Teaching and Learning Approach, and Criterion 7 on Facilities and Infrastructure. The Accounting program received a score of 5 for Criterion 6 on Student Support Services and Criterion 8 on Output and Achievement Results. The Automotive Technology program received a score of 5 for Criterion 2 on Program Structure, Criterion 6 on Student Support Services, and Criterion 7 on Facilities and Infrastructure. The Food Technology program received a score of 5 for Criterion 2 on Program Structure, Criterion 5 on Academic and Support Staff, Criterion 6 on Student Support Services, Criterion 7 on Facilities and Infrastructure, and Criterion 8 on Output and Achievement Results.
Thus, overall, the evaluation results show that the academic programs all possess program structures, student support activities, and facilities that exceed expectations, thereby achieving good output and achievement results. This reflects both the academic development of the programs and the University’s investment in student support services and facilities to create favorable conditions for training activities, scientific research, and community service.

This was the second time the University conducted an assessment under AUN-QA. The first assessment was carried out in 2019 under the AUN-QA Version 3 standards. The results showed that all four academic programs assessed (Business Administration, Finance and Banking, Information Technology, and English Language) achieved the “adequate as expected” level.
In 2019, the programs also received a score of 5 for the criteria related to program structure, teaching methods, and the University’s facilities and equipment. Therefore, compared to 2019, the 2021 assessment showed additional improvements in learner support activities, staff, and output and achievement results, which reached the 5/7 level. In 2021, the University boldly implemented the newly revised AUN-QA Version 4.0 program assessment framework. The Version 4.0 framework consists of eight criteria and clearly requires that expected learning outcomes of programs be measured and assessed, that teaching and assessment methods achieve program learning outcomes, and that quality enhancement activities be integrated into all program operations.
According to Dr. Tran Ai Cam, Rector of the University, the evaluation results reflect the quality of the University’s academic programs. In 2019, based on the AUN-QA evaluation results, the University also boldly invested in its staff, student support activities, and continued improvements to its facilities and equipment. Going forward, the University will continue improving the assessment of program learning outcomes, strengthen training and innovation in teaching and student assessment methods to measure course and program learning outcomes, and maintain investment in facilities, equipment, and student support activities in accordance with the University’s learner-centered philosophy.
