NTTU Welcomes External Assessment Team for Preliminary Visit of 10 Training Programs

NTTU – On March 13, 2024, the External Assessment Team from the Center for Education Quality Accreditation – Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-CEA) conducted a virtual preliminary visit of 10 training programs. The pre-visited disciplines include Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology, Information Technology, Multimedia Communications, Pharmacy, Medical Physics, Finance and Banking, Tourism, Hospitality Management, Marketing, and Business Administration.

During the working session, experts presented the team’s initial findings following an in-depth review of the programs’ self-assessment dossiers and evidence. Dr. Tran Huu Luong, Head of the Cooperation and Development Department (VNU-CEA), oversaw the general remarks for Standards 1–5 and Standard 10. Ms. Vu Thi Mai Anh (M.A.), Deputy Head of the Department of Accreditation and Quality Recognition (VNU-CEA), was responsible for the evaluation of Standards 6–9 and Standard 11.

Speaking at the session, Dr. Tran Ai Cam introduced the Self-Assessment Council and summarized the university’s internal evaluation process. She committed that the university would provide the optimal conditions to ensure the assessment team’s workflow remains seamless and effective.

Representing VNU-CEA, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Van Toan, Deputy Director of the Center, outlined the objectives, scope, and members of the assessment delegation. He expressed gratitude to NTTU for their continued trust in the Center’s services and pledged that the team would operate under the core principles of Respect, Objectivity, Integrity, and Accuracy.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Duc, former Vice President of VNU-Hanoi and Head of the Assessment Team, addressed the session via the virtual platform. He highly commended NTTU’s rigorous preparation during the self-assessment phase. He noted that evaluating 10 undergraduate programs simultaneously—spanning diverse fields such as Healthcare, Engineering, IT, and Social Sciences—provides a comprehensive overview of the university’s institutional capacity. Furthermore, he highlighted that NTTU has earned significant public trust, as evidenced by its current enrollment of over 30,000 students and trainees.

Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Hương, Secretary of the Education Quality Accreditation Council (VNU-CEA), reported on three key areas:

1. Findings from the review of Self-Assessment dossiers.
   
2. The official visit schedule.
3. Logistical requirements for the upcoming official site visit.

To conclude the session, the university leadership, the Center representatives, and the External Assessment Team signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) marking the completion of the preliminary visit. The signing was witnessed by the heads of the 10 training programs and relevant specialized units.

The official external assessment at Nguyen Tat Thanh University is scheduled to take place from March 22 to March 28, 2024.
