From December 20 to 24, 2016, Nguyen Tat Thanh University hosted the External Evaluation Team organized by the Education Quality Accreditation Center under Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City for the official site visit as part of the institutional quality accreditation process based on the Higher Education Institution Quality Assessment Standards.
During the five-day visit, the evaluation team carried out a full range of assessment activities, including reviewing supporting documents and evidence, conducting site visits to the University’s facilities, and interviewing relevant stakeholders.
On the morning of December 24, 2016, the External Evaluation Team and Nguyen Tat Thanh University held the closing ceremony of the official institutional evaluation visit.
The ceremony was attended by Nguyen Quoc Chinh, Director of the Center for Educational Testing and Quality Assessment of VNU-HCM and Deputy Director of the Education Quality Accreditation Center, who served as Head of the External Evaluation Team, along with other expert evaluators. Representing Nguyen Tat Thanh University were Nguyen Manh Hung, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Rector of the University, together with members of the Party Committee, Board of Trustees, and leaders of the University’s departments, faculties, centers, and affiliated organizations.
At the closing ceremony, the University received the preliminary findings of the official evaluation visit presented by Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh. The report highlighted specific strengths, areas for improvement, and recommendations corresponding to each of the ten standards in the Institutional Quality Assessment Framework.
“From its beginnings as a vocational school to becoming a university, Nguyen Tat Thanh University was the first private university to voluntarily participate in accreditation. Through this process, we have gained a clearer understanding of our strengths, weaknesses, and the principles of university governance. We are highly impressed by the professionalism of the experts on the External Evaluation Team. Their thorough observations, viewed through an independent external perspective, are like experienced doctors diagnosing each aspect of the University. These insights will be invaluable to our continued development in the years ahead.”
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh, Head of the External Evaluation Team, and Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Rector of Nguyen Tat Thanh University, signed the official report confirming the completion of the institutional evaluation site visit.
