NTTU Conducts Internal Assessment for 05 Undergraduate Programs Based on the University’s Internal Assessment Standards and Provides Guidance on Self-Assessment for the 2024–2025 Academic Year

NTTU – On July 30, 2024, Nguyen Tat Thanh University (NTTU) organized an Internal Assessment Team to directly discuss the strengths and areas for improvement within its training programs. This followed a month-long process where the programs completed their Self-Assessment Reports (SAR) and assessment team members reviewed the accompanying evidence dossiers.

The Internal Assessment Team included the President and representatives from the Department of Quality Assurance, the Department of Human Resources, the Library and Information Center, the Department of Science and Technology, and the NTTU Office. Together, they reviewed and provided feedback on the reports and evidence submitted by the training programs.

Dr. Tran Ai Cam – President and Head of the Internal Assessment Team – commended the programs for their serious commitment and coordination in meeting the established timeline. This marks the second time the University has implemented internal assessments to serve as a basis for periodic internal quality improvement and as preparation for formal self-assessment and accreditation in the 2024–2025 academic year.

The Internal Assessment Team worked directly with five training programs: Medicine; Logistics and Supply Chain Management; E-commerce; Public Relations; and Economic Law, highlighting both their achievements and areas needing further refinement.

Following the feedback, all five programs reached a consensus on the team’s findings and committed to developing improvement plans to address existing issues.

In addition, Mr. Nguyen Huu Dang Quang (M.A.) – Deputy Head of the Department of Quality Assurance – presented the guidelines and roadmap for the Self-Assessment process for the six programs registered for accreditation in the 2024–2025 academic year. Key contents included:

  • The process of Self-Assessment and registration for external assessment.
  • Objectives and requirements for implementing Self-Assessment.
  • Implementation framework and documentation guidelines.
  • Working principles and coordination between faculties and supporting units.
  • The roadmap for Self-Assessment and external assessment registration.
  • Immediate tasks to be performed.

Concluding the session, the President provided final observations and conclusions to ensure programs continue to review and enhance internal quality, aiming for the best interests of the learners. The results of this internal assessment cycle serve as a foundation for periodic improvement, a monitoring component within the Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) system, and a means to foster the University’s “quality culture.”

NTTU’s Internal Assessment Standards consist of 8 standards and 60 criteria: Standard 1 – Governance (8 criteria), Standard 2 – Training Programs (8 criteria), Standard 3 – Faculty and Research Staff (10 criteria), Standard 4 – Support Staff (4 criteria), Standard 5 – Student Support (7 criteria), Standard 6 – Facilities and Library (9 criteria), Standard 7 – Innovation (6 criteria), Standard 8 – Output Results (8 criteria).
