NTTU – The second “Red Volunteer Day” of the 2025 – 2026 academic year attracted a large number of administrators, lecturers, staff members, and students, resulting in the collection of more than 500 units of blood over two days, June 8 and 9, 2026.
The program was jointly organized by the Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group, the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union, the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, and the Ho Chi Minh City Humanitarian Blood Donation Center.
Voluntary blood donation is a noble and deeply humanitarian act. By taking just a few minutes to donate blood, individuals can help provide a chance of life to patients in urgent need of blood for treatment. This meaningful act of sharing not only offers practical support but also reflects compassion, social responsibility, and a commitment to serving the community.
Representatives of the Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group, the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union, the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, and the Ho Chi Minh City Humanitarian Blood Donation Center attended the second “Red Volunteer Day” program for the 2025–2026 academic year
The second “Red Volunteer Day” was organized to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union (September 14, 1996 – September 14, 2026) and the 27th anniversary of Nguyen Tat Thanh University (June 5, 1999 – June 5, 2026). The event also served as a meaningful activity to promote the spirit of voluntary blood donation among administrators, lecturers, staff members, youth union members, and students of the University.
Attending the program on behalf of the Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group, the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union, and the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association were Ms. Vu Thi Thuy Duong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Executive Office of the Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group; Mr. Le Tat Thang, Deputy Head of the Trade Union Affairs Department and Acting Head of the Representative Office of the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union in Ho Chi Minh City; and Ms. Ngo Yen Binh, representative of the Office of the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union.
Representing Nguyen Tat Thanh University, were Dr. Hoang Huu Dung, Vice President and Chairman of the University Trade Union; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thao, Acting Head of the Office of Student Affairs and Secretary of the University Youth Union; and Ms. Cao Son Lien, Deputy Chief of the University Office and Member of the Executive Committee of the University Trade Union. They were joined by a large number of lecturers, staff members, and students of Nguyen Tat Thanh University.
In his opening remarks and address at the event, Mr. Le Tat Thang, Deputy Head of the Trade Union Affairs Department and Acting Head of the Representative Office of the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union in Ho Chi Minh City, highly appreciated the close coordination among participating organizations in organizing the voluntary blood donation program. He emphasized that the “Red Volunteer Day” was not only a meaningful activity celebrating important milestones of the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union and Nguyen Tat Thanh University, but also an opportunity to promote the spirit of compassion and community responsibility among union members, employees, and students.
At the event, Dr. Hoang Huu Dung, Vice President and Chairman of the Trade Union of Nguyen Tat Thanh University, stated that the University consistently places great emphasis on fostering an educational environment that is closely linked to social responsibility. Community service, charitable activities, and humanitarian blood donation programs have always received enthusiastic support from the University’s administrators, lecturers, staff members, employees, and students. According to Dr. Hoang Huu Dung, participating in blood donation not only helps supplement blood supplies for emergency care and medical treatment, but also encourages NTTU students to develop compassion, a spirit of sharing, and a stronger sense of social responsibility.
As one of the staff from Nguyen Tat Thanh University participating in the blood donation program, a teacher shared: “Donating blood is a small act with great significance. When I participated, a thought passed my mind that my donation could help a patient get through a difficult time. What is truly meaningful is that at NTTU, this spirit is naturally embraced and shared. Administrators, lecturers, staff members, and students alike are always willing to join hands in serving the community.”
Before donating blood, faculty, staff, and students of Nguyen Tat Thanh University undergo health check-ups, consultations, and screening procedures according to established protocols.
The program not only received enthusiastic support from administrators, lecturers, and staff members, but also attracted a large number of NTTU students. Arriving early to register for blood donation, Tran Dang Dung, a student at Nguyen Tat Thanh University, shared: “This is my first time donating blood, so I was a little nervous at first. However, after receiving guidance from the organizers and learning that my blood donation could help patients in need, I felt very happy and proud to have contributed to such a meaningful cause.”
Nguyen Minh Anh, also a student at Nguyen Tat Thanh University, noted that volunteer activities at NTTU provide students with valuable opportunities for personal development beyond the classroom: “I believe that youth is not only about studying but also about living responsibly and contributing to the community. Participating in blood donation has helped me realize that everyone can make a meaningful contribution to society through practical actions.”
Throughout the two-day event, the program was conducted in a professional and well-organized manner, ensuring full compliance with all procedures, including donor screening, health consultations, blood collection, and post-donation care. Thanks to the close collaboration among the organizing units, the professional support provided by the Ho Chi Minh City Humanitarian Blood Donation Center, and the enthusiastic participation of donors, the program successfully collected more than 500 units of blood during the two-day program, contributing to the blood supply needed for emergency and clinical treatment at healthcare institutions.

The second “Red Volunteer Day” of the 2025–2026 academic year concluded with many meaningful achievements, spreading the message: “Every drop of blood donated – a life saved.” The event stands as a testament to the spirit of solidarity, compassion, and community responsibility demonstrated by the Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group, the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union, the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, and all partnering organizations in their shared commitment to promoting public health and well-being.
