Closing Ceremony of the Official External Assessment for 03 Training Programs: Mechatronics Engineering Technology, Vietnamese Studies, and Nursing

NTTU – After more than three days of rigorous and objective work, the official external assessment for three undergraduate programs—Mechatronics Engineering Technology, Vietnamese Studies, and Nursing—at Nguyen Tat Thanh University (NTTU) concluded on September 16, 2022, with a closing ceremony held at the An Phu Dong campus, District 12.

The ceremony was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Quynh Lam – Director of the Center for Education Quality Accreditation, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (CEA-VNUHCM) and Delegation Supervisor. Representing the External Assessment Team were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Van Thuyen – Team Leader; Mr. Hoang Tho Phu (M.A.) – Secretary; along with other team members. From NTTU, participants included Dr. Tran Ai Cam – President, along with the Board of Management, supporting departments, and the leadership, faculty, and staff of the three assessed programs.

From September 13 to September 16, 2022, the External Assessment Team conducted a thorough review of all dossiers and evidence. The experts performed site visits of facilities, including the Library and laboratory systems; engaged with supporting units such as the Department of Academic Affairs, the Department of Human Resources, and the Department of Equipment Management; and conducted direct interviews with various internal and external stakeholders, including faculty leadership, department heads, lecturers, staff from supporting units, students, alumni, and employers.

During the presentation of the preliminary results at the closing ceremony, the assessment team highlighted the university’s strengths. These included a comprehensive system of regulations, procedures, and guidelines for curriculum development, personnel management, student support, and quality assurance. They also commended the university’s efforts in faculty and staff professional development, significant investment in facilities, diverse extracurricular activities, and strong corporate connections for career orientation and job placement. Furthermore, the team identified areas for improvement and provided valuable recommendations to help the university and its faculties continue enhancing training quality, safeguarding student interests, and meeting the requirements of employers and other stakeholders.

On behalf of the university, Dr. Tran Ai Cam expressed her gratitude to CEA-VNUHCM and the experts of the External Assessment Team for their impartial work and objective, honest, and precise feedback.

To conclude the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Quynh Lam, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Van Thuyen, and Dr. Tran Ai Cam represented the three parties in signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) marking the completion of the official site visit for the three undergraduate programs under Circular 04/2016/TT-BGDĐT.
