The theme of this year&#8217;s conference was &#8220;The Urgent Need to Redefine the Role of Universities in Asia-Pacific in the Context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Population Aging.&#8221;<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 90%; color: #282828;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hosted by <\/span><b>Kyushu University, Japan<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the conference attracted more than <\/span><b>40 universities<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from countries across the Asia-Pacific region and several other countries around the world. Nguyen Tat Thanh University was one of <\/span><b>three Vietnamese universities<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> participating in the conference.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 90%; color: #282828;\">Topics discussed at the conference included:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 90%; color: #282828;\">student internationalization;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 90%; color: #282828;\">enhancing the global employability of graduates;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 90%; color: #282828;\">faculty internationalization;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 90%; color: #282828;\">global impact and research reputation; and<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 90%; color: #282828;\">building globally recognized university brands.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 90%; color: #282828;\">As part of the conference, the QS ranking organization (United Kingdom) presented QS Stars certificates to universities awarded star ratings in 2019. Four universities from Indonesia, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Malaysia received QS Stars certifications during this ceremony. Among them, one university received 5 stars, two received 4 stars, and one received 3 stars. Representing Vietnam, Nguyen Tat Thanh University was honored to receive the QS Stars 4-Star Certificate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 90%; color: #282828;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To achieve this recognition, Nguyen Tat Thanh University underwent a rigorous and independent process of data collection and institutional evaluation based on the <\/span><b>QS Stars framework<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which consists of <\/span><b>eight assessment categories<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-size: 90%; color: #282828;\"><b>Teaching<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-size: 90%; color: #282828;\"><b>Employability<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-size: 90%; color: #282828;\"><b>Internationalization<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-size: 90%; color: #282828;\"><b>Academic Development<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-size: 90%; color: #282828;\"><b>Program Strength<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-size: 90%; color: #282828;\"><b>Facilities<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-size: 90%; color: #282828;\"><b>Social Responsibility<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-size: 90%; color: #282828;\"><b>Inclusiveness<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 90%; color: #282828;\">Among these:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-size: 90%; color: #282828;\"><b>Internationalization<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>Program Strength<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> each received <\/span><b>3 stars<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-size: 90%; color: #282828;\"><b>Teaching<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>Social Responsibility<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> each received <\/span><b>4 stars<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-size: 90%; color: #282828;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Notably, <\/span><b>four out of the eight categories achieved 5 stars<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span><\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 90%; color: #282828;\">Employability<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 90%; color: #282828;\">Academic Development<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 90%; color: #282828;\">Facilities<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 90%; color: #282828;\">Inclusiveness<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 90%; color: #282828;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Compared with the University&#8217;s results in <\/span><b>2016<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Nguyen Tat Thanh University demonstrated remarkable progress following the <\/span><b>2019 QS Stars re-evaluation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 90%; color: #282828;\"><b>Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Manh Hung<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, President of the University, remarked:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 90%; color: #282828;\">&#8220;Developing in the direction of internationalization is the best way for a university to extend its reach to the global stage. Pursuing the QS Stars standards helps universities establish clearer and more specific goals for their internationalization strategies. Nguyen Tat Thanh University has always identified participation in both domestic and international quality accreditation as an essential means of providing credible evidence of the University&#8217;s educational quality.
