NTTU \u2013 On the morning of June 20, 2023, Dr. Tran Ai Cam, President of Nguyen Tat Thanh University (NTTU), chaired a meeting to launch the university’s internal assessment initiative.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

In an effort to establish an Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) system as a foundation for continuous quality improvement, NTTU has researched and developed a comprehensive set of internal standards. This internal framework is projected to consist of 8 standards and 60 criteria, covering key performance indicators (KPIs) in governance, innovation, education, scientific research, student affairs and community service, facilities and library, and Output Results. These indicators were developed with reference to Circular 04\/2016\/TT-BGD\u0110T, the draft Circular on Higher Education Institutional Standards, the UPM University Performance Metrics, and NTTU\u2019s own strategic development orientation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Opening the meeting, Dr. Tran Ai Cam clarified the general objectives and requirements of internal assessment in accordance with the Law on Higher Education and Circular 17\/2021, as well as the university’s goals for its IQA system. She emphasized that the core purpose of internal assessment is to gather a systematic data set to update and facilitate the continuous improvement of training programs across all faculties.<\/span><\/p>\n

Following the opening remarks, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Dao (M.A.), Head of the Department of Quality Assurance, presented the contents of the Internal Assessment Standards and the implementation plan. The 2023 pilot internal assessment phase involves the direct participation of seven training programs preparing for re-accreditation in 2024, supported by relevant university units.<\/span><\/p>\n

The participating programs include: Information Technology, Business Administration, Pharmacy, Hospitality Management, Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology, English Language, and Finance and Banking. Supporting units include the Department of Quality Assurance, the Office of Academic Affairs, the Department of Human Resources, the Department of Science and Technology, the Center for Educational Testing, the Department of Student Affairs, and the Library and Information Center.<\/span><\/p>\n

After the presentation, representatives from various faculties and departments shared their feedback. Dr. Nguyen Kim Qu\u1ed1c, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, highly valued the significance of the internal assessment and reached a consensus on the university’s plan. Similarly, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Nghia (Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy), Dr. Nguyen Thi Nguyet Anh (Standing Vice Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages), Dr. Thai Hong Thuy Khanh (Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting), and Dr. Phan Thi Ngan (Acting Dean of the Faculty of Tourism) all agreed with the proposed standards. The faculties and units further discussed and finalized the implementation timeline.<\/span><\/p>\n

Concluding the meeting, the President directed the Department of Quality Assurance to finalize Version 1 of the Internal Assessment Standards, incorporating international quality benchmarks and adjusting the plan based on the feedback from units to proceed with official implementation.<\/span><\/p>\n
